On June 11 Rotary Park was filled with survivors and relayers. Once again the Whitecourt Relay For Life took place. I was so honoured to be asked to cover this event once again. I always love to be able to take place in events such as these. When you are surrounded by so many people all working towards one thing it truly is amazing. The weather didn't want to be on our side but that did not stop the teams from always walking that track in order to raise money for cancer research. After covering this event for the past three years I can say that the luminary ceremony at the end of the night is definitely my favourite part of the event. Seeing the track light up with the memories and love that people have for anyone who has or was fighting their battle with cancer is really something to see.
